I recently completed a very special new song, co-written with my dear friend and prolific lyricist, Dawn Sinclair. The song is called "The Babes In The Wood", and is a true story.
Karen Hadaway and Nicola Fellows, both aged nine, were strangled in Wild Park not far from their homes in Moulescomb, Brighton, England in 1986. A man was subsequently suspected and taken into custody but when he was later acquitted in court through lack of evidence, the police admitted they had no other suspects. And although more than 20 years have passed since that tragic event, no one has been held accountable for their murders. Ever since then, the families of the two little girls have struggled to have the case re-opened, incurring much hard work, heartache and expense.
Working together with Dawn and Nigel Heffron (uncle of Nicola Fellows), efforts have been made to have CD copies of the song released. A production company have agreed an extremely good deal for a run of 2,000 CD's which will be on sale initially at both HMV and Virgin stores in Brighton, so if anyone from the UK is reading this, I urge them to buy a copy. Dawn and I have agreed to forego any royalties, so all of the money is going to a charity. As soon as I have any more details, I'll post it here, and anyone requiring more information can contact me by clicking
Update: The CD is now on sale at HMV superstore in Brighton. ALL proceeds will be going to the registered childrens' charities, Children In Need, Childline and the Rockinghorse Appeal. Please buy a copy if you live in this area, to support Nicola and Karen and help provide protection to others like them.

Ron Gletherow has recently received this message and quote from his friend, world renowned singer/songwriter/actor, Paul Williams, concerning the upcoming release of the song, "The Babes In The Wood".Paul writes: Every act of kindness is a little bit of love we leave behind. I hope Ron and Dawn's song touched someone enough to jog a memory and provide the information that will end this mystery. The tragedy remains. We can only fight to keep our own children safe, and to lovingly remember Nicola and Karen once ran joyfully together. Just "Babes in the Wood"
We would like to sincerely thank Paul for his kindness and support in this project.
"From England to New England", the title track from Ron's latest CD, was featured on the "Cousin Johnny" show, on WNLC radio, 98.7FM of New London, Connecticut. The song is also to be included on an upcoming WNLC compilation CD, featuring local artists. Several other of Ron's songs have recently been featured on Connecticut College radio at WCNI, 90.9FM.
Ron Gletherow now has a second web site at www.soundclick.com . This is a site used by many other unsigned singer songwriters for the purpose of promoting their songs. The site contains charts under various genres and can be accessed by clicking here, or access the music page by clicking here, or by going to the "Soundclick" home page and searching for "Ron Gletherow" under "Artists". Here you'll be able to listen to and vote for Ron's songs, and maybe help push some of them up into the charts. Sal Joseph, Ron's long time friend and mentor (and the writer of Jim Croce's "Thursday" from the "I Got A Name" album) also has a site at "Soundclick", which can be accessed by clicking here, and another friend, Tom Orecchio has a site here. The other new sites are at "Song Planet" and "Mixposure". You can access Ron's "artist page" at Song Planet by clicking here, and the other site at Mixposure by clicking here
In 1998, Ron appeared on Granada TV's "Stars In Their Eyes" as his idol, Jim Croce. This meant so much to Ron, to be given the chance to portray someone who he'd been a lifelong fan of, before an audience of millions.
